• Patients experiencing chronic depression, anxiety, eating disorders, obesity, or drug use that hasn’t improved with standard treatments should undergo assessment.
  • Adults diagnosed with ADHD in childhood or recommended for ADHD assessment by professionals (teachers, professors, school counselors, or coaches) should undergo assessment and subsequent treatment if necessary. Approximately 6% of those with childhood ADHD continue to experience symptoms into adulthood.
  • Adults of all genders with a family history or suspicion of ADHD in a child, sibling, or parent should undergo assessment.
  • Patients exhibiting issues such as frequent impulsivity, multiple driving infractions, online addiction, or frequent job loss are advised to seek assessment.

For those requiring assessment, click “Book an Assessment” and complete the necessary registration forms as a new patient. Afterward, the clinic will provide instructions on payment for psychometric testing and scheduling the initial assessment. Additional assessment and treatment, if needed, will be evaluated by a psychiatrist. A referral from a family physician or walk-in clinic is necessary for coverage by the care card.

The Attention Clinic combines private and publicly funded services.

  • Counseling sessions with a registered clinical counselor last 55 minutes and cost $150.
  • Sessions with a life coach also last 55 minutes and cost $100.

After registration and payment for psychometric tests, patients undergo virtual or in-person testing. Based on results, a treatment plan is formulated collaboratively. Further assessment and follow-up appointments with a psychiatrist for medication may be part of the plan, and is covered by the care card with a referral from your Family physician or Walk-in Clinic doctor.

Patients without a care card must privately pay for psychiatric appointments. Refer to MSP(link is external) for information about what services are and are not covered. 

As all appointments are available virtually or in person, residents anywhere in BC can initiate assessments and treatment. However, services are not provided to individuals living outside of BC.
